JAN KAARE JOHNSEN With sadness the family of Jan Johnsen announces his passing on March 4th, 2009. Dad was born in Bergen, Norway September 9, 1928. He was a sailor who met the love of his life aboard a ship somewhere around South America and jumped ship in Vancouver, BC to join her. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 55 years Wendy (Meredith) and is survived by his daughters Sydney Johnsen (Maurice Hindle), Laila Salm (Patrick), and son Kris Johnsen (Leslie Petersen). He is survived by five grandchildren Simon, Samantha, Tasha, Jordan and Tara, and one great granddaughter Hailey as well as extended family in Norway and Seattle. Dad, a talented craftsman, spent many satisfying years keeping the machinery humming for Weldwood of Canada in both 100 Mile House and Williams Lake. He and Mom retired near the ocean in Gibsons, BC and moved to Kamloops in 2007. He was loved. Thanks Dad. A Service will be held Saturday, March 7th, 2009.
