BLACK POINT – Linda Barbara (Kennedy) Cameron, 60, Black Point, formerly of New Glasgow, passed away suddenly, Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at home.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of Barbara Ann (Powell) Kennedy, New Glasgow and the late Thomas Irvin “Tom” Kennedy.
Linda was a faithful member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow. She owned and operated the concession stand at Melmerby Beach and had previously owned and operated the former Saint Cinnamon Bakery Cafe, New Glasgow until March of this year. The “love of her life” was her two grandchildren, JT and Emma. Linda was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Surviving besides her mother, Barbara, are her husband of 33 years, John C.; daughter, Kimberley (Keith); son, Kirk (Amanda); grandson, John Thomas “JT”; granddaughter, Emma Grace; sisters, Carol Ann (Tony) Russell, Patricia (Dan) Irving, Bernadette (Terry) Kellock, Dawn Kennedy; brother, John (Karen) Kennedy; nieces and nephews: Jerry, Kathy, Petra, Desiree, Erica, Jeremy, Amy, Pamela, Emily, Philip, Trevor, Christopher and Ryan; great-niece, Oola; great-nephews: Mickey, Mack, Kemper; uncles, Gary, Springhill; Jerry, Trenton, Ont.; good friends: Linda R., Susan, Mary and Ann.
Besides her father, Tom, she was predeceased by her brother, Gary; niece, Elysha; uncle, Glen; mother-in-law, Ruth.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church with Father Gary MacPherson presiding. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, New Glasgow.
Family flowers only. Donations may be made in Linda’s memory to Canadian Diabetes Association.
