IN LOVING MEMORY QUEENIE PINK. It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Queenie on March 16, 2009 at the Royal Inland Hospital. Queenie will be lovingly missed by her husband Tom Lawrie, her son John (Jasna) Pink, daughter Brenda Pink, granddaughter Tanja, numerous nieces and nephews as well as many friends within the community. Queenie was predeceased by her first husband Torrance Pink, her sisters: Lily Feng, Florence Pon, Amy Wong and her brother Roy Fong. Queenie was born in Agassiz, BC to a pioneering family, where she worked the family farm until she left home. She worked with BC Corrections and School District #24 before becoming the first female Sheriff in BC; she stayed with the Sheriff's Dept. until her retirement. She will be sadly missed by all those whose lives she touched throughout the years. A Memorial Service to Celebrate Queenie's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 20, 2009 at St. Paul's Anglican Church at 4th and St. Paul., Canon. Rev. Jack Phelps will be officiating.
