LILA READ passed away peacefully in her 79th year at Pioneer Lodge in Moose Jaw on Sunday, January 10, 2010. Predeceased by her parents, brother, Lloyd (Joan), sister, Audrey (Chet), brother-in-law, Earl Fishley, also Ruby (Jack) Harlton and Edith (Grant) Prentice. Lila leaves to mourn her husband of 58 years, Jim; brothers: Roy (Kathy) Mountenay, Ross (Marj) Mountenay and sister, Beatrice Fishley; four children: Tom (Val) – Burnaby, B.C., Bob (Terry) – Bethune, Martin (Shelley) – Surrey, B.C., and Jane (Tom Cochrane) of Blue Springs, Missouri; ten grandchildren: Kyla, Tyerel, Mark, Nicole, Dawn and Amber (Mike), Kanda, Chris, Ellie and Nate; three great-grandchildren: Desiree, Leto and Nevaeh. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined, memorial donations in Lila’s name may be directed to the Saskatchewan Heart & Stroke Foundation, 279 – 3rd Ave. N., Saskatoon, S7K 2H8. Her husband Jim will be moving to Surrey, B.C. In living memory of Lila, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
