Ingrid Mary Berry (Sveen) Ingrid (Sveen) Berry, born March 5, 1926, in Vindola, Norway, passed away peacefully after a prolonged illness on March 15, 2009, in Kamloops, BC. Ingrid immigrated to Canada from Norway in 1949, where she worked for farmers in rural Alberta before moving to Radville, SK, where all of her children were born. She later moved to Estevan, SK and Rutland, BC, before settling permanently in Kamloops. Ingrid loved nature, gardening, knitting, sewing, baking, music-and was passionate about the Vancouver Canucks and the BC Lions. Beloved and cherished by all she met, she was a kind and loving mother and grandmother whose life was dedicated to her children and grandchildren and to dealing with life's hardships through laughter. Ingrid is survived by her children: Diane Doucette (Ted), Guy Deschambault, Rosanne Nelson (Gord), Eva Bouchard and Ryan Bouchard; her grandchildren: Robyn and Fraser Hart and Nick, Kerry and Erik Beauchesne; her brother Lars Sveen and sister Kristine Nordli; and many nieces and nephews. Ingrid was predeceased by her daughter, baby Helen Deschambault, parents Edvard and Gura, brothers Olaf and Georg, sister Maret, and grandson Derek Ryan Hart. A Memorial Tea to give tribute to Ingrid's life will be held on Saturday, March 21 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Personal Alternative Funeral Services, 177 Tranquille Rd., Kamloops, BC. The family wishes to thank Dr. Chip Bantock and the kind and caring staff at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home.
