It is with great sadness that the family of the late Bertha Thistle announce her passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook on Monday, August 6th, 2012 at the age of 86 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her 6 children: Shirley Snooks (Eldred), Calvin Thistle (May), Keith Thistle, Derek Thistle, Granville Thistle and Gerald Thistle (Judy); 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson; brother Roland Spencer (Daisy) ; sister Laura Rowsell (Tom), as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by husband Harvey Thistle; parents William and Hilda Spencer; children: Shirley, Ruby Sheppard and Terry Thistle and brother Tom Spencer. Cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium in Pasadena. There will be no visitation or funeral service. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
