FREEDA SWADLING nee Ziegenhagel. September 1, 1922 - August 22, 2009 Freeda Swadling went to be with the Lord on August 22 at the age of 86 years. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Ralphe. She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters Beryl (Bob) Cassidy of Kamloops, BC and Nora Patterson of Clearwater, BC, daughter-in-law Lily Swadling of Medicine Hat, AB; six grandchildren, Bob Jr. (Trina) Cassidy, Michelle (Larry) Macko, Darin Patterson, Devin (Julie) Patterson, Cliff (Andrea) Swadling and Shana (Steve) Comstock and thirteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by her two brothers Art (Adeline) and John (Irene) Ziegenhagel both of Medicine Hat and three sisters Alice Boschee, Edna Vossler and Ruth (Harold) Cain all of Medicine Hat. She was predeceased by her parents Jacob and Emilia Ziegenhagel, brother George (Adele), son Earl in 2002 and son-in-law Jack Patterson in 2004. She was born in Medicine Hat and later moved to Vancouver, BC where she met and married Ralphe. Together they moved to Kamloops where they settled and raised their three children, She was a committed Christian and an active member of First Baptist Church. For many years, Freeda used her talents of service at the church and Sunnybrae Bible Camp on Shuswap Lake. A Funeral Service will be held in Freeda's memory at the First Baptist Church, 454 Columbia Street on Friday, August 28, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
