BENN: John Patrick "Jack" Benn age 80 years of Swift Current passed away July 20, 2012 at his farm residence. A memorial service was held at 3:00 P.M., July 28, 2012 from the Cornerstone Fellowship Church, Swift Current, SK, with John Duncan officiating. The pianist was Karen MacCullum and a power point was prepared and presented by Lloyd. Tributes were presented by nieces Bonnie and Leonne. The ushers were Mack and Darren Brown and the honorary pallbearers were "All who shared in his life". The interment service was held at Mount Pleasant Burial Park Cemetery, Swift Current, SK. Jack is survived by his wife Lavane; daughters Paula (David) and Pam Benn: granddaughter Katharine and numerous nieces nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his father John Francis Benn (1947); mother Katherine (nee: White) - (1966); infant daughter Pattrice (1969): uncles and aunts: Lorne & Jean Waite and Willis & Eunice White. Jack was born April 16, 1932 in Regina, SK and came home to the family farm a few months later. He attended school at Leinan, the Swift Current Collegiate Institute and Campion College in Regina. He was united in marriage to Lavane Peters on January 11, 1964 in Wymark, SK. He was employed at The Reaserch Station in Swift Current, before taking over the family farm. Jack was a member of the Independant Order of Foresters and the Northway C0-0P Hall Association, now the Tea-Room at the Kinetic Park Fairgrounds. He loved his horses and frequently reminisced about using them in his childhood and early farm life. He had a big heart for his pets and loved planting a garden and enjoying his rewards each fall. He enjoyed telling his daughters and granddaughter the fine points of gardening and fishing. His winters were spent reading and solving crossword puzzles. Memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to a charity of the donor's choice, would be appreciated by the family. WARREN'S FUNERAL HOME were entrusted with the arrangements.
