CORMIER, LAURIE - 1933-2012 - Laurie Cormier, 78 of Bouctouche, spouse of Jeanita (McDonald)) Cormier passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at the Stella Maris de Kent Hospital, Sainte-Anne de Kent on Thursday ,August 9th, 2012. Born in Sainte-Marie de Kent on November 30th, 1933, he was the son of the late Damien and the late Mélina (LeBlanc) Cormier. Laurie was a truck driver by profession, prior to that he was the manager of the Irving Oil Bouctouche office for 23 years. He was a long time member of the Bouctouche Volunteer Fire Department and the Kent Ambulance. He will be sadly missed by his spouse Jeanita, his children: Louise Maillet (Maurice), Paul (Stella) and Léo (Nicky), all of Bouctouche, his two sisters: Léona McDonald of Bouctouche and Antoinette LeBlanc (Léo-Paul) of Gardner, his four grandchildren: Kevin, Ricky, Jenny and Michael, his six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Laurie was predeceased by his step-father Albert Collette.
Visitations will be held at the Maillet Funeral Home on Monday, August 13th, 2012 from 7 to 9pm and on Tuesday from 2 to 3:45pm. Funeral Mass will be held at the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Roman Catholic Church Bouctouche on Tuesday, August 14th, 2012 at 4:00pm, with interment in the parish cemetery. In Laurie`s memory donations can be made to the Parish of Bouctouche or to the Dr Georges L Dumont Hospital Foundation oncology department. Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Maillet Funeral Home, Bouctouche.
