OMATSU .1914 ~ 2009 .Torazo Omatsu passed away peacefully at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice in Kamloops on August 2, 2009. Torazo leaves his loving wife, Etsu of 67 years. He was much loved by his surviving nieces and nephews, as well as by his great and great-great nieces and nephews. Torazo was predeceased by his parents, Denji and Tome, brothers Rinzo and Denno, and sister Shizue Kobayashi. Torazo was born on January 11, 1914 in Vancouver BC. He started working for BC Interior Sawmill in 1943 and retired from Weyerhaeuser as the Quality Controller for Weyerhaeuser's Kamloops Sawmill in 1979. During his employment, he was the recipient of numerous awards in lumber grading. The Omatsu and Kobayashi Families would like to thank the staff and volunteers at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice and the nurses and doctors in the Emergency Department and 6 South at Royal Inland Hospital for all their support and love. Deep and lasting gratitude to Dr. Alice Huang for her kindness and personal care of Torazo. No flowers by request.
