Suddenly at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Sunday, November 30, 2008, of Mr. John A. (Allie) Murphy of Whisperwood Villa and formerly of Morell, age 87 years. Veteran of the Second World War. Dear husband of Josephine (Jodie) (MacInnis-Eldershaw) Murphy. Cherished father of Shannon (Jason) Larocque of St. Peters Bay. Allie is also fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Jane and Luke Larocque; brothers and sister, Emmett (Sheila) Murphy, Vernita (Sinnot) Mullally; sisters-in-law, Bernie Murphy and Libby Murphy; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Felbert and Nora (Lewis) Murphy; brothers and sister, Carl, Maurice, Ern and Gertrude Murphy. Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home, no visitation by request. The funeral will be held Wednesday with funeral mass at St. Theresa of the Little Flower Church, Morell, at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow in the family plot in the parish cemetery. If so desired, memorials in Allie’s memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of P.E.I.
