Douglas Farnham
FARNHAM, DOUGLAS - It is with sadness the family announce the passing of Douglas Berton Farnham, which occurred on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born January 10, 1935 in Saint John, he was the loving husband to Gladys (Beckwith) and son of the late Berton and Willa (Snow) Farnham. During Douglas’ life he worked at the Saint John Dry-Dock for 5 years, RST for 16 years, and Joseph A Likely for 22 years. Douglas loved watching the Toronto Maple Leafs play and was considered to be their biggest fan. Besides his wife Gladys, he is survived by his children Bruce, Deborah (Dennis), Diane (Gary) all of Saint John; his sister Eleanor (Norman) Braydon of Public Landing; grandchildren Patrick, Kimberly, Scott, Shawna, Berton, Carter, Corey, Ryan; and great grandchildren Riley, Dylan, Ethan, Xavier, and Declan. Besides his parents Douglas was predeceased by his son Berton, daughter Donna, and sister Joan White.
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424). A graveside service will be held at Ocean View Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 2 p.m. Donations in Douglas’ memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. www.fundyfuneralhome.com
