SHERIDAN, Darrel Jack of Kamloops, passed away at the Royal Inland Hospital on July 11th, 2009 at the age of 84 years. Darrel was born on June 11th, 1925 in Keewatin, Ontario. He lived in Winnipeg, Manitoba for the first 7 years of his marriage then moving with his wife Lea to Red Deer, Alberta, where they lived for 15 years. Darrel received his Chartered Accountancy Degree in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1951. He was a senior partner in the McKenzie, Sheridan Mathew C.A. firm for 15 years. His next moves took him to Vancouver, where he became a partner in a Western Canadian chain of retail ladies wear stores in 1969. Next he moved to Edmonton where he was on the Alberta Public Utilities Board for 5 years. He went back to Red Deer for 2 years, then to Kamloops, BC in 1980 where he resided for the last 29 years of his life and became a partner in a local accountancy firm; He was a member of Munro and Sheridan Company for 25 years. Throughout his business life, he has been active in Rotary, Chambers of Commerce, Kinsmen, Jaycees, Shriners and Alberta Bowling Association. Darrel served 4 years in the Canadian Army Corp. during World War II with the rank of Captain. Darrel's greatest joys in life were socializing with great friends and family; times filled with jokes and laughter. His dog Mickey gave him incredible joy and companionship for the last four years of his life. He was blessed with the joy of being able to meet all of his great grandchildren before he passed away. He was very proud of all of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Darrel was predeceased by his wife Lea in 2007. He will be sadly missed by his three children, Wayne (Elizabeth) of Victoria, Sharen (Tom) Whitburn of Winnipeg, and Judy (Malcolm) Martin of Kamloops. Darrel was proud of his grandchildren Jamie (Shelly) Sheridan of Edmonton, Allison (Jake) Humphry of Squamish, Lauren (Lyndon) Wagenaar of Thunder Bay, Dana Whitburn of Winnipeg, Simon (Francyne), Shannon (Brant), and Tyler (Crystal) Martin of Kamloops, and his great grandchildren; Coral, Cameron, and Dylan of Squamish, Aiden of Edmonton, and Kallie of Thunder Bay. Darrel is also survived by his sister Glenna (John) Dubois of Calgary, and many nieces and nephews. Darrel loved to party, he loved to laugh, and make others laugh. Many thanks to the staff at Ridgeview Home for their wonderful care and creating and enjoyable environment for Darrel's short stay. Darrel once again enjoyed jokes and laughter with his fellow Rat Pack and the staff at Ridgeview. Donations in Darrel's memory can be made to BC Paraplegic Foundation
