SAVOIE, ARTHUR - (1931-2012) - POINTE-SAPIN, NB - Arthur Savoie 80, of Pointe-Sapin passed away peacefully at the Villa Providence, Shediac on Sunday, August 12, 2012. Born in Pointe-Sapin, he was the son of the late Alfred and late Mélina (Bordage) Savoie. Before retiring, Arthur was employed as a fisherman. He was a member of the Pointe-Sapin Golden Age Club. Arthur will be sadly missed by his loving wife; Lorraine (Guimond) Savoie, two daughters; Gina Savoie (Raymond Daigle) Linda Savoie all of Pointe-Sapin and a step-daughter; Marina Robichaud (Maurice) of St. Louis, three grandchildren; Jocelyn Savoie, Mireille Dinner (Tom) and Maxime Robichaud. Arthur is also survived by two sisters; Christina Dugas (Euclide) of Irishtown and Marguerite Meunier of Moncton, one brother; Alfred Savoie (Florence) of Saint John, two sisters-in-law; Laudia Savoie (late Yvon), Suzanne Savoie (late Joseph) both of Pointe-Sapin, and several nieces and nephews. Arthur was predeceased by his parents, five brothers; Alyre, Joseph, Yvon, Antoine and infant Ovila.
Resting at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Pointe-Sapin with visitation on Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, Thursday at 2:00 pm until time of funeral. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 16th, 2012 at 4:00 pm, St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Pointe-Sapin. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).
