Jean Ella (Morris) MacLean, 87, passed away early Aug. 14, 2012, in Miners’ Memorial Manor, Sydney Mines.
Born in Sydney Mines on Oct. 12, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Agnes (MacGowan) Morris.
She was a member of Clyde Avenue Baptist Church, Sydney Mines.
After graduating from business college in Sydney, she worked in the Royal Bank and later in the town hall in Sydney Mines.
Surviving Jean are her daughters, Joan Kaulback, Halifax, Lois (Wayne) Boudreau, Kentville, Nancy (Sheldon) Haley, Tantallon; sons, Vern (Michele), Port aux Basques, Brian (Tanya), Truro; 13 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; sister-in-law, Emily Morris, and special niece, Jeanne Milner.
Besides her parents, Jean was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Danny, her son, Lorne Edward, her sister, Blanche (Angus) Nicholson, her brother, Erwin Morris, her son-in-law, Richard Kaulback and nephew, Lorne Nicholson.
Visitation For Jean MacLean will be held in the J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines, on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Friday at 2 p.m. in Clyde Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. David Hopper officiating. The burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Sydney Mines.
