DOYLE, HARRY JOSEPH ALFRED - Word has been received from the Philippines of the sudden death of Harry Doyle on August 12, 2012. Born on May 22, 1950, he was the only son of the late Cecil and Alice Doyle of Fredericton and was a lifelong resident of the city although in recent years he divided his time between Fredericton and the Philippines. He was a graduate of Saint Thomas University and a well known local businessman. He is survived by his wife Jane and son Joseph of Surigao City, Philippines and by his son Stephen Doyle of Detroit, Michigan. He is also survived by his four sisters and their families, Mary McIlwraith (Thomas) of Carleton Place, Ontario, Anne Doyle and Joan Doyle, both of Fredericton and Elizabeth Doyle (Denis Gosselin) of Levis, Quebec; his aunts Kathleen Beaton of Moncton, NB and Joan Swenson (Bob) of Ottawa, Ontario, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 24th at 12 noon at St Dunstan's Church in Fredericton, NB with Fathers Bill Brennan and John Carten, SFM, officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made to the Alice Doyle Memorial Bursary at St Thomas University in Fredericton, NB or to the charity of the donor's choice.
