Laura Wirges passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Sunday, August 12th, 2012 at the age of 94. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 18th, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Pastor Bill Cantelon will officiate and interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery. Laura was born December 14th, 1917 and was raised in the Mortlach area. She married Adam Wirges and farmed in the Courval District until they retired to Moose Jaw in 1991. She was predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Selina Lahrman; husband, Adam Wirges; son-in-law, Ross Renwick and sister, Selma Wirges. Laura is survived by her daughters, Alice (Louis) Perras and Shirley Renwick; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews; sister, Melinda Dobson and brother, Dick (Enice) Lahrman. The family would like to thank Dr. A.J. Van Heerden, Dr. J. Vermaak and the staff on the medical ward of the Moose Jaw Union Hospital for the extra special care given to our mother during the last 3 months. In lieu of flowers, donations in Laura’s name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Sask., 279 3rd Ave. N., Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8.
