In Loving Memory of TERRANCE HERBERT WILTON 1939 ~ 2009 It is with deep sadness and loss that we announce that Terry passed away quietly on June 20, 2009 at the Kamloops Hospice with his wife at his side, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. To cherish his memory, Terry leaves his wife of 24 years, Judy, his children Danny (Denise McCabe) Carroll, Michael (Diane) Carroll, grandchildren Miranda and Maria Caroll; his sisters Pat (Rod) Haddad, Helen (Glenn) Gruber and June (Jerry) Jubinville, and his brother Earl "Bud" (Shelly Wilton). Terry will also be sadly missed by his mother-in-law Helen Magee, brothers-in-law Bob (Leslie Carr) Magee and Pat (Beth) Magee, sister-in-law Nancy (Tom Derkson) Didier, his many nieces and nephews and lifelong friends. Terry was predeceased by his mother and father Doris and Earl Wilton of Logan Lake, BC and his father-in-law David Magee of Squamish, BC. Terry was born on July 31, 1939 in the small town of Galt, Ontario. After the war, his family moved to BC where he spent many happy childhood years in Surrey, Allenby and Hope. Terry continually challenged himself in many ways during his life: riding motorcycles, flying airplanes, skiing, boating, playing guitar, singing, charcoal sketching, curling, bowling, hunting and lifelong education. He was a past President of the Eagles Lodge in Hope. He moved throughout BC, working for the railroad, mines and sawmills, and then finally settled in Kamloops. Terry worked at the Kamloops Weyerhaeuser Pulp Mill, first as a millwright and then for many years as a maintenance supervisor, until his retirement after 25 years. He spent his retirement years hunting, ATVing and camping with his many close friends, and renovating the family home. Terry could make or fix anything. He was a proficient electrician, machinist, plumber, metal worker, welder and woodworker - you name it, he could do it! He was always helping his friends and family with whatever was needed and Terry was more than repaid in kind by the incredible and unwavering support of his family and friends during his illness. Terry's quiet demeanour, steadfast character and wonderful sense of humour earned him the love and enduring respect of his family and friends. Terry loved life and in keeping with his incredible strength of character, Terry fought hard for his life, right to the last. "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal." Terry's Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kamloops Hospice, 72 Whiteshield Cr., South, Kamloops BC, V2E 2S9. Arrangements entrusted to Kamloops Funeral Home, 285 Fortune Drive. 250-554-2577 Condolences may be sent to the family from http://www.kamloopsfuneralhome.com
