SIGNE RIIS August 18, 1914 - June 14, 2009 Signe Riis slipped effortlessly into death at the Baraka Care Home where she'd resided for many years the evening of June 14. Pre-deceased by her husband Hans Riis after 65 years of marriage, her parents Sigrid (Nystekkett) Weiseth and Andrew Weiseth, her sister Alice (Otto) Riise and nephew Dale Weiseth, she leaves her brother Julian (Esther) Weiseth, son Nelson (Penny) Riis, daughter Sharon Riis, former sons-in-law Peter Purdue and James (Michael Hamann) McNinch, grandsons Nils (Tammy Rampone) and Jon (Renee) Riis, Riis McNinch, and granddaughter Anna McNinch as well as great-granddaughters Kristen and Katie Riis and great grandson Gage Wudrick. She leaves her nephews Arnie (Shirle) Riise, Alvin (Pauline) Riise, and David (Irene) Weiseth and her niece Joy (Dennis) Stewart as well as many great nieces and nephews. Following her wishes there will be no funeral and no memorial. Her immediate family will gather in August to celebrate her indomitable optimistic self and long life.
