NICKOLI, JOSEPH SAMUEL 1937-2009 It is with deep sadness and regret that Joe's family announces his sudden passing on May 12, 2009 at Royal Inland Hospital, Kamloops, B.C. He is predeceased by his father in 1962, his mother in 1980, his two brothers Jerry and John, and his sister Jean. He is survived by his three daughters, Joanne (Richard) of Langley, Elisa (Eldon) of Lillooet, Lynda (Jeremy) of Grande Prairie; also two step sons Mark (Rhea) of Port Coquitlam, Steven (Rachel) of Calgary. Also six grandchildren, Janelle and Caden, Roddy, Logan, Isabelle and Adam. Joe also leaves to cherish his memory his brother Eric Nickoli (Irene) of Vernon, his sisters Rose Shingler (Les) of Oliver, Ruby McRae of Vernon, brother-in-law Rod Black (Lynn) of Kamloops, many nieces and nephews in British Columbia, Ontario and Alberta and numerous cousins in Canada, Brazil and Poland. Joseph Samuel Nickoli was born in 1937 in Minnitonas, Manitoba. Soon after World War II, his father sold the family farm and moved the family to Vernon, B.C. in 1947. In 1958 Joe worked in Bralorne, B.C. for Thompson Motor Cartage and eventually started his own business, Nickoli Cartage, and ran that for over 40 years. Joe enjoyed his fleet of trucks and he enjoyed serving the people in the community. Joe supported a wide range of community endeavors and non-profit organizations. Whatever he did, the real value was in the relationships he built with friends and family. He was a man of faith and was content with a simple life style. His family loved and appreciated him so precious are the memories he is leaving behind. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 13th, 2009 at St. Andrews United Church, Lillooet, B.C. Thompson Valley Funeral Home Ashcroft entrusted with arrangements.
