BETTY MAGOON July 5, 1936 - May 22, 2009 It is with great sadness, that we have to announce the passing of Betty Ann Magoon, wife, mother and (great) grandmother. She will be remembered by her loving husband of 54 years Melvin and their children Ken (Dallas) Magoon, Sheila (Cory) Bouwmeester, Brenda (Russ) Hala, Darla (Marshall) Potoroka; seven grandchildren Amber, Natasha, Kristin, Bradley, Mitchell, Matthew, Lauren; and six great grandchildren Neveah, Gracie, Morgan, Nolan, Adara, and Boden. She is also survived by brothers Frank Leeson, Alex Leeson, sisters Eve Love, Hazel Larson, Donnie Knox, and Ella Larson. Betty was predeceased by her son Brent Magoon, grandsons Jacob and Christopher Magoon, brothers Harry, Melvin, Dan, and sisters Elsie and Ena. Betty was born July 5, 1936 just outside of Nipawin, Saskatchewan to parents Harry and Hazel Leeson. She grew up on a farm until she was 15 and then in August of 1951 she moved with her family to Prince George. At the age of 17 she met her future husband, and the two were married a year later, August 1954. Soon after, they moved to Kamloops and started a family of their own. We will remember your laughter and beautiful smile, your loving devotion to family and friends. You had immense kindness and generosity that was always extended to everyone. We all feel the loss from the bottom of our hearts. We miss you already and will remember you forever. We would like to give our sincere thank you to Dr. Michaud, Dr. Wijeyesinghe, nurses, staff and porters on 3 West, the Renal Unit, and ICU for all the extra special love and attention they gave her over the last two months. The memorial will be at Schoening's Funeral Service, 513 Seymour St., Kamloops on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Should friends desire, donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, 200-4940 Canada Way, Burnaby, B.C.
