Hanes: Florence Marie, of Truro, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 20, 2012 in the Colchester Regional Hospital Truro. Born in Tatamagouche, Florence was a daughter of the late William and Violetta (Bell) Hall. Florence was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She spent her life looking after her family and the children of the neighborhood. She was a member St. Andrew’s United Church Truro. Florence and her husband Elton were members of the Fundy Trail Snowmobile Club. Florence and Elton enjoyed many summers at their cottage at King’s Rest in Bass River. Florence is survived by her loving husband Elton of 60 years; sons, Stan (Holly), Bedford, Mike (Patti), Truro; grandchildren, Lauren, Jenna, Mark, Matthew and Jeffrey; brother, Bill (Betty) Hall, Halifax. Florence was predeceased by sisters and brothers, Hazel, Percy, Lorne, Margaret, Leta, Esther and Leon. Visitation will be held 6-8pm Thursday, August 23, and funeral service 2pm Friday, August 24, all in the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street Truro, with Rev. Jay Ettinger officiating. Reception to follow in the funeral home. Interment will then be held in the Robie Street Cemetery in Truro. Family flowers only. Donations in Florence’s memory may be made to the Alzheimers Society.
