JOHN HAROLD FOSTER May 29th, 1926 - May 15th, 2009 John Harold Foster of Kamloops, BC, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side on the afternoon of May 15th, 2009, after a brief illness. John is survived by his loving wife Shirley, children Calvin of Quesnel, BC, Allan (Jenny) of Surrey, BC, and James (Alissa) of Heffley Creek, BC and grandchildren: Christa, Amaris, Daniel, Gilead, Evangeline, Joel, Alex, John, Brittney, Tyler, Brook, Jaide and Nathan. John is predeceased by his brothers Benton and Robert. John will be missed by all who knew him and will be remembered for his love of his family and his unique sense of humour. John had many passions, including flying, travelling, writing and prospecting, to name a few. John was born in Regina, Saskatchewan in 1926. He grew up in southern Alberta and Saskatchewan and graduated from high school in Herbert, Saskatchewan. After graduation, John attended military training with the Canadian Army Parachute Corps at Shilo, Manitoba and Vernon, British Columbia. After the war, John worked throughout BC and Alberta, and in 1963, married Shirley. In 1968, John and Shirley moved to Kamloops, where they eventually settled with their three sons - Calvin, Allan and James - in Monte Lake. An informal gathering to celebrate John's life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 23rd, 2009 at the Kamloops Funeral Home, 285 Fortune Drive. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of British Columbia.
