VERA ELIZABETH GOUGH Vera Elizabeth Gough passed away May 11, 2009 in Kamloops, BC at the age of 95 years. She is survived by three sons: Brian (Pauline) of Ridgefield, WA, Larry (Tannis) of Burnaby, BC and Richard (Mary Kaye) of Pinantan Lake, BC; three grandchildren: Teresa, Jeffrey, Pamela and three great grandchildren: Marissa, Justin, Nicholas all of Washington. She was predeceased by husband Gordon Gough, sister Muriel Brash and her parents. Vera was born in Vancouver, BC on December 13, 1913 to English parents Eveline and Albert Gilberthorpe, and lived her early years in Kitsilano, BC. Vera was a founding member of the Stenographers, Typists, Bookkeepers and Assistants Union, Local 18177. This union was a predecessor the O.T.E.U., Local 15 of which she was the first Secretary-Treasurer. Local 15 was the first Local in Canada, and Vera was very proud of this fact. Vera was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Her family will miss her, and her wonderful sense of humour. There will be no service by request, and interment is to be in Ocean View Cemetery, Burnaby, BC at a later date.
