James Eldridge Jackson, 87, St. Peter’s, passed Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, at the Northside General Hospital, North Sydney.
Born in St. Peter’s, he was the son of the late John and Maude (Crewe) Jackson.
Jim served a highly decorated career with the military, serving in Korea and numerous peacekeeping missions overseas.
Jim served for many years at all levels of office with the Royal Canadian Legion branch 47, St. Peter’s.
Jim is survived by his only son, Roy (Denise), Alberta; two grandsons, Jamie and Robert; brother, Ernest, Victoria; and his very, very dear friend, Mary McLellen, Inverness.
He was predeceased by a brother and two sisters.
He will be sorely missed.
Funeral mass will be offered Friday at 11 a.m. from St. Peter’s Church, St. Peter’s, with Rev. Dennis Lamey presiding. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Green’s Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury.
