Vern will be missed by his siblings, Clara (Rodger) Melnyk, Carmel (Fred) Archer, Ruth Ritchey, Ken (Nola) Morrow and their children. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law Herb Ritchey. Vernon will also be missed by his in-laws who looked upon Vern as a helpful big brother, his Mother-in-law Rhea Delisle; Edward (Christine) Delisle; Denis (Janice) Delisle; Evangeline (Shannon) Studney and their children. Vern worked for the CNR when he moved from Jasper, Alberta to Kamloops and in 1972 became a Logging Truck Driver. The important things that Vern enjoyed in his life were fishing and camping with family and friends and country music. Thanks to all of the Congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses in Kamloops, staff at James Western Star, Royal Inland Hospital, Hospice House and our many friends and workmates too numerous to name, for their co-operation during Vern's short courageous battle with cancer. Special thanks to the Ron Wallace family for helping Vern to 'keep-on-logging' even though he couldn't do it himself. It was Vern's desire that no Memorial Service be held. Should friends desire, donations may be made to the Brocklehurst Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, 260 Leigh Road, Kamloops, BC, V2B 2M1, or to the BC Cancer Society, 111-450 Lansdowne St., Kamloops, BC, V2C 1Y3.
