SKALING, STEVEN EDWARD - Steven Edward Skaling of Saint John New Brunswick, died on Friday, August 17, 2012 as the result of a motor vehicle accident. Born March 1, 1983 in Newcastle New Brunswick, he was the son of Frank and Audrey (nee Parsons) Skaling. He attended and graduated from Sussex Regional High School in 2001. Steven's ambition was to be a long haul truck driver or heavy equipment operator. He went on to work in various fields and subsequently obtained his Class 1 driver's license in 2010. In 2012 he obtained his heavy equipment operators certificate. Most recently, Steven was working in Fort McMurray in the oil industry and was in the process of moving to Edmonton Alberta to work in the heavy equipment field. He loved music and life, his friends and his family with a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews. Steven enjoyed playing the guitar and often composed his own songs. Besides his family and fiancée his greatest joy was to sit around a campfire playing the guitar and singing. Steven is survived by his father Frank and mother Audrey currently residing in Whites Cove, N.B., his brother Tibor and wife Belinda (nee King) and their daughter Kiana residing in Devon Alberta, his brother Craig and wife Jean (nee Kao) and their daughter Lyla and son Jake residing in Oakland California, his brother Drew and wife Katie (nee Kimball) and their son Rylee residing in Sussex New Brunswick and his fiancée Erika Eliassen residing in Saint John, New Brunswick.
A family funeral service was held in Edmonton, Alberta with burial in Sussex New Brunswick.
