BARRETT, ROBERT (BOB) GERALD – It is with heavy hearts that the family of Robert (Bob) Gerald Barrett announce his unexpected passing on Friday, August 24, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Husband of Joanne (O’Brien) Barrett. Born in Saint John on May 15, 1943, he was a son of the late William Gerald and Mary Theresa (Connolly) Barrett. Bob worked for St. Joseph’s Hospital for 37 years, retiring in 2003. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 6595. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren of whom he was so proud. Bob and Joanne celebrated their 50th anniversary on August 4th. He is survived by his loving wife, Joanne; and their daughters, Mary Catherine “Cathy” Munford (Scott) of Victoria, BC, Susan Marie Marshall (Wayne) of Camrose, AB, and Jean Elizabeth Muenster (Scott) of Saint John; six grandchildren, Robbie and Molly Marshall, Brandon, Courtney, Kayla and Jordan Muenster; one brother, Dennis Barrett (Ann) of Saint John; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Monday, August 27, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Ann’s Church on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 10:00 am. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
