(May 21, 1931 - August 26, 2012). Passed peacefully away as the sun was rising on August 26, 2012, at the Health Sciences Center, John Douglas Hart, age 81, son of the late Corbett and Lillian Hart. John retired from Canadian National in 1988 after 37 years of service. He is predeceased by his brothers: George, William and Gordon. Leaving to mourn his loving and devoted wife of 57 years Rosamund; children: Judith (Larry Bunnell), Gerald, Gregory, Jacqueline (Peter Koopmans), and James (Cathy); grandchildren: Dean Bunnell, Stacy Bunnell, Timothy Bunnell, Chelsea Hart, Johnny Hart and Rebecca Pike; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Irene Hart, Doreen Hart, Bernice Hart, Tom Penney, Ed Penney (Marguerite), Warrick Mercer; and a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special thanks to Richard Churchill, Gordon Penney and Rhonda Tiller for their support, and sincere thanks for the compassionate care received from Dr. Cathy Murray, Dr. Stephen Duffett, Dr. Cyril Riche, Dr. Grenfell Adams, and staff of 4 South A and staff of Ambulatory Care at the Health Sciences Center. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at Barrett’s Mount Pearl Chapel, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2012.
