It is with great regret and deep sadness that we the family announce the passing of Annie Musgrave on Jan. 12, 2010, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by her family.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Elizabeth (Locke) Legge.
She was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed spending time with her family.
In her younger years, she was employed as the Sydney Steel Corp as a mail carrier. She enjoyed playing cards and bunco. She loved to travel and go camping with her family to Broad Cove. She loved to read and was famous for her shortbread cookies.
Annie is survived by her children, Lisa (Darrel) Mollon, Sydney, David (Ann) Musgrave, Sydney, Harry (Peggy) Musgrave, Hawaii, Terrance (Nia) Musgrave, Brian (Sherry) Musgrave, Ken (Blanche) Musgrave, all of Sydney. She is also survived by her siblings, Josie (John ‘Red’) McNeil, Halifax, Theresa O’Neill, Newfoundland, Bill Legge, Newfoundland; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Leonard, sisters, Georgina, Margie, Eileen, and Mary, brothers, Charlie and Joe.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 14 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will take place 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 15 at Holy Redeemer Church, Whitney Pier, with Fr. Errol MacDonald officiating. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
Donations to the ICU Department of the CBRH or charity of choice.
The family would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Wong, nurses and the staff of ICU for your kindness and thoughtfulness will never be forgotten.
