The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital on Saturday, March 22, 2008, of Joseph. E. Gallant, dear husband of Marguerite Gallant of Cape Egmont, at the age of 79 years. He is the son of the late Emilien and Delina Gallant. Besides his wife, he is survived by son, Allan( Claudette) of Cape Egmont; grandchildren, Tanya and Ryan, and a step-mother, Margaret Campbell of Charlottetown; a sister, Leona Poirier of Mont Carmel; step-sisters, Ramona Hopper of Alberta, Betty Johnson of Los Vegas, Sheila Hanson of Halifax, Debbie McInnis of Charlottetown; step-brothers, Vern of Hamilton, Wayne also of Hamilton, and George of Charlottetown and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by daughter Gisele; brothers, Augustin, Edmond, Ted, and Victor and infant brother, Felix. He was a member of Club d'Age d'Or, Club Acadien, Mont Carmel Church Choir and also of Senior Club. Resting at the Evangeline Funeral Home until Wednesday at 3 p.m. for funeral service at Notre-Dame de Mont-Carmel Church. Visitation Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 1 p.m. until time of funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Mont Carmel Parish Church would be greatly appreciated.
