RACKLEY, (MARIE) RENA - Marie Rena Rackley, wife of the late Oliver Blair Rackley, passed away on August 29, 2012, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Eel River Crossing (Dalhousie) on September 6, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Adelard and Melvina (Basque) Doucet. She is survived by her children Robert (Flora), Jack (Erlie), William, Timothy (Crystal), Linda Rackley & Cindy (Rejean) Richardson, brothers Gerard, Lionel (Evelyn), Jimmy (Janet) Doucet; all of Dalhousie, NB, sisters Jean Harding, Anita Rogers, Nora (Perry) Fishman, Alida Frees, grandchildren Bobby, Jimmy, Melissa, Chantal, Michelle, Amanda, Robin, Jason, Michael, Richard, Randal, April, Josh, Russell, David, many great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Special to Rena's heart is Gina Curry. Fondly remembered by Aaron, D.J., and Leonard. Rena was predeceased by sisters Dorena Frawley and Alexina Doucet, and special grandsons, Billy-Joe Breau and Jonathan Hughes. Rena will be remembered as a businesswoman, renting apartments/rooms to supplement her husband's income. Rena loved western movies, and singing country songs and French songs. Since childhood, Rena cared for her parents, siblings, then her own family. She fed, clothed & housed everyone in need - often giving them money she herself needed. She rescued and fed birds & animals. What a wonderful person!
Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Tuesday at 12:05pm. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
