McINERNEY, MARY - Mary Constance McInerney passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at the Ridgewood Veterans Wing on August 30, 2012. Mary was born on May 23, 1916, the daughter of the late Henry O. McInerney and Catherine (Macdonald) McInerney. She was a member of a large, close knit clan who loved each other dearly. She graduated from Mount Carmel Academy and began a secretarial career in Saint John. She served her country by joining the Royal Canadian Air Force (Women`s Division) in 1942. Following the war she attended the Parsons School of Design in New York City graduating as an interior designer, a career she pursued for many years. Mary was a talented amateur artist, producing many fine watercolour landscapes and interiors. Mary was predeceased by her sisters Marion Watts, Margery Knoll, Christine McInerney, Dorothy Lunney, Rita Henneberry and Bobby Lawson all of the Saint John area and one brother George McInerney of Chatham, ON. She is survived by two sisters, Eleanor Record of Quispamsis and Joan Kennedy of Saint John and one brother Harry J. McInerney of Saint John. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road Saint John (646-2424). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 12 Noon with a reception to follow at Chateau Saint John, 369 Rockland Road. Interment will be held in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery, Rothesay, NB on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 4 p.m. The family would appreciate donations made to the CNIB, NB Kidney Foundation or the charity of one's choice. www.fundyfuneralhome.com
