Peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, on Friday, March 21, 2008 of Janie David (nee MacKey) of Charlottetown and formerly of Georgetown. Janie was born in Greenmount, Prince County and was the daughter of the late John and Madeline (Perry) MacKey. She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence (Clarey) David, as well as several brothers and sisters. Beloved and devoted mother of nine children, she will be dearly missed by her three sons and six daughters: Louis (Patricia) of St. John, N.B.; James (Geraldine) of Chilliwack, B.C.; Chester (Anne-deceased) of Johnston’s River; Margaret Lavie of Georgetown; Ella of Truro N.S.; Gladys-Ann (Annie) MacGillivray (Frank) of Cardigan: Laverne (Dan Crowtz) of Truro N.S.; Reatha Walsh of Charlottetown, and Janie Dixon (Ross) of Mermaid. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and her loving sister-in-law, Rose MacKey of Tignish. Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford, for visitation on Monday, March 24, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. then transferred to St. James Roman Catholic Church, Georgetown for visitation on Tuesday, March 25 from 1 p.m. until time of funeral mass at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in the family plot at the church cemetery, As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to St. James Parish, Georgetown, would be appreciated.
