NEW GLASGOW – Dennis Garfield Darroch, 63, New Glasgow, passed away suddenly, Saturday, September 1, 2012 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of Mary Josephine (DeCoste) Darroch, New Glasgow and the late George Hale Darroch. Prior to retirement, he had been a welder at the former Trenton Works, Trenton. He enjoyed playing darts, pool, fishing, hunting and watching his “Leafs – win again”. He was a loving son, companion, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Surviving are his companion, Karen Paschal; daughters, Denise (Randall) and Dawn (Thomas); son, Danny (Brian); step-daughters, Stephanie (Jay), Wanda (Tom), Vicki (Tim) and Lisa (Robert); step-son, Tyler (Kylee); grandchildren, Alicia, Shayna, Jessica, Joey, Donnie, Daniel, Greg, Rachel, Tristan, Carter, Zoey, Emily and Abigail; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda, Nancy (Bert) and Brenda (Donnie); brothers, John (Sharon), Fraser (Brenda) and Gary; many nieces and nephews.
Besides his father, George, he was predeceased by his son, Dennis Jr.; sister, Maddie.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel with Rev. Douglas A. Pilsworth presiding. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery, New Glasgow.
