SCRIBNER, GERTRUDE - It is with great sadness the family announce the passing of Gertrude Scribner, wife of Arthur Scribner of Saint John, which occurred on Monday, September 3, 2012 at the Kingsway Care Center. Born in Culross Fife, Scotland on December 16, 1926 she was the eldest daughter of the late Robert and Alice (Hand) Smith. Gertrude was a member of the Saint Mary and Saint Bartholomew’s Church. She is survived by her husband Arthur, son Darrell (Donna); daughters Janice (Fred) Bramston, Robyn (Paul) Dickson all of Saint John; sisters Joyce (Fred) Peterson of Dartmouth, N.S, Sheila (George) Lawrence, Burtts Corner; sister-in-law Norma Smith of Brampton, Ont; and grandchildren Kelsey, Kyle, Jenna, Austin. Besides her parents she was predeceased by sister Alice Visser; and brothers William, Thomas, Clyde and Robert Smith.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road Saint John (646-2424) with visitation on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 from 2 to 4 p.m and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Fernhill Cemetery.
