It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Eunice Gwendolyn (D’Aubin) Williams. Mom passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by her family.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Marcus and Christine (Wigginton) D’Aubin.
Mom was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Mom gladly was a stay at home mother, at which she took great pride.
Mom was a loyal member of St. Andrews United Church.
When her grandchildren were born, she took on the role of grandmother to Christy, Mark and Kyle. The joy and pride could be seen in her eyes with every moment she spent with each of them.
Surviving are her loving daughter, Lynn Richardson; son, John (Terry) Williams; grandchildren, Christy Richardson, Mark (Jennifer) Richardson, Calgary, and Kyle Williams, Sydney; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews; and faithful dog, Jake.
Eunice was predeceased by her husband, best friend and true admirer, John ‘Jack’ Williams in 2006. She was also predeceased by her brothers, James and Donald D’Aubin and sisters, Isabel D’Aubin and Pearl Pugh.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel, Saturday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held Sunday, 1 p.m. at St. Andrews United Church with Rev. Stephen Mills officiating. Interment in Hardwood Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
