Peacefully at the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Tuesday, March 25, 2008, of Ronald Daniel McKinnon, of 100 Dufferin Street, Alberton, age 90 years. Veteran of the Second World War, and loving husband of Betty (nee Barrett) McKinnon. Born May 23, 1917, he was the son of the late Hugh and Catherine (nee Gaudet) McKinnon. Cherished father to Wayne of Charlottetown; Charles (Pat) of Calgary, Alta.; Verna (Arnold) MacPhee of Alberton; Patsy (Ken) Carlson of Black Falls, Alta.; Garth (Brenda) of Summerside; Keith (Shannon) of Winnipeg; Bill (Pat) of Summerside. Stepfather to Joseph Bellands of Edmonton; Christine (Ron) Rhodes of Langdon, Alta.; Belinda (Dennis) Chartrand of Red Deer, Alta.; Maureen Belland of Red Deer, Alta.; Anthony Belland of Airdrie, Alta.; Simone (Brian) McDonald of Calgary, Alta.; Girrard Belland of Calgary, Alta.; Denise (Norm) McLeod of Airdrie, Alta., and Betty-Jane (Rick) Soares of Calgary, Alta. Dear brother to Catherine (late Frankie) Arsenault of Mill Road, Tignish. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 27 step-grandchildren and 33 step- great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Isabel (nee Barrett) McKinnon; a daughter, Ronnie Rose Butler; a stepdaughter, Gail Bellands and by brothers and sisters, Emily Handrahan, Vonnie Sogerquest, Ida McKinnon, Elmira Piccallo, Freddie and Angus (Mac), Urban and Albert. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours commencing on Friday, March 28, 2008, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Saturday morning, March 29, from the Sacred Heart Church, Alberton, for funeral mass at 11 a.m. Interment later in the church cemetery.
