DEREK GEORGE DRYDEN
March 23, 1947 - December 15, 2009

Derek passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Laurel Place Hospice in Surrey, B.C.

Derek was born in Ottawa to George and Betty Dryden.

He is survived by his beloved wife Leslie, his high school sweetheart whom he affectionately called “Kitty”, his sons David (Lina) and Christopher, grandchildren Natasha, Michael and Mason, his two sisters Diane & Trish (Lee) and nephew Bryn, niece Jesse and sister in-law Lisa (John).

Derek loved life and he was so proud of his sons and grandchildren. He had a passion for playing hockey, squash, and golf, and he was a great salesman, who loved “the art of the deal”. Derek loved a “thrill” and spent a day not so long ago in a small plane piloted by his son David.

He was the life of any party and delighted his family and friends with his quick wit, adventuresome spirit, and loving heart. He will be deeply missed.

There will be a private graveside interment and a celebration of his life at a later date for his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Surrey Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
