SMITH, CORA BELLE - The passing of Cora Belle Smith of Fredericton occurred on Saturday, September 8 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional. She was 100. Born in Royalton, NB on October 25, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Frank Weade and Jennie Cowan. A member of Crosspoint Wesleyan Church, she worked at the old Victoria Public Hospital in the laundry department and was also a head seamstress for many years. Survived by one Son Wayne Smith (Sheryl) of Fredericton, her devoted two grandchildren, Lynnette (Joel) Brewer, Karen (Mike) Bell all of Marysville, and four great-grandchildren Ellen and Maggie Brewer, Kilee and Morgan Bell, several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband Merton Edmond Smith, brother Charlie (Glenna) Weade, sisters Pearl (Gordon) McPherson and Letha (Don) Tompkins.
Resting at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 from 7 to 9 PM. A celebration of Cora’s life will be held Thursday, September 13 at 11AM from the Cross Point Wesleyan Church in Marysville with Rev. Lona Johnson and Rev Conard Symonds officiating. Interment will follow in the Nashwaak Village Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service will be Joel Brewer, Mike Bell, Dennis Allen, Ralph Baird, Joey Munn and Mike McNeill.
