RVIERTON/LITTLE HARBOUR – Charlotte Ruth Grant, age 88, of the Valley View Villa, and formerly of Little Harbour, passed away Friday, January 15, 2010, in the Villa.
Born in Linacy, she was a daughter of the late John Ira and Sarah Jane (Pound) Hughes.
She was a retired employee of the Metropolitan Stores.
She was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow.
She is survived by daughters, Carolynn Grant (Sandy Reid), New Glasgow; Mary (Tom) DeCoff, Fraser’s Mountain; son, Ralph (Lexie), Fraser’s Mountain; grandchildren: Brenton and Lucinda Grant, Lisa and Lynn Jenkins, Terry and Michael DeCoff; six great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband William “Bill” Grant; infant son, Lloyd; sisters, Stella Grant, Tressa Morrison and Ethel Hebb; brothers, Ira, Brenton and Louis.
Special thanks to Dr. Spencer Barclay for his care over the years; the staff of Valley View Villa for their compassion and loving care towards Mom and her family; and to special nieces Alice Cameron and Marie Fraser for being there.
Cremation has taken place.
There will be no visitation or funeral service by request.
A private family committal service will be held at a later date.
Donations in her memory may be made to Valley View Villa, Aberdeen Palliative Care Society or a charity of choice.
