It is with heartfelt sadness that we, the family of Lois Violet Dunn, of Bay Street, Sydney, announce her peaceful passing on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late George and Pearl (Mortimer) Richardson.
Lois was a member of Holy Redeemer parish. She was employed as a supervisor with MT&T, retiring after 42 years of service.
Will be sadly missed by her loving husband and best friend of 56 years, John; the pride and joy of her life, daughter, Melissa and favourite son-in-law, Tom ‘Butch’ Hawco, Sydney; sister, Maxine, Alberta and brother, David, Ontario.
Lois was predeceased by her sisters, Lena and Mary and brothers, Clayton, Charles and Ivan.
There will be no visitation. A memorial mass will be held at Holy Redeemer Church on Monday 11 a.m., with Rev. Paul Murphy officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. Following mass, a reception will take place at the Pier legion.

I will take two chairs
And sit them side by side.
So that you and I, in quiet peace,
May watch the world go by”.
