FRIESEN - Mrs. Anna Friesen (nee: Dyck) passed away peascefully on Tuesday, January 5, 2010, age 89 years at the Prairie Pioneer Lodge, Swift Current. Funeral Services were held on Monday January 11, 2010, at the Church Of The Open Bible, Swift Current, SK, with Pastor Rob Cochrane officiating. Barb Mirau playing the organ, special music was provided by Pete & Leona Braun and the ushers were: Harry Friesen, Ray Rempel, Don McElheran and Bill Colquhoun. The honorary pallbearers were: Darold Beisel, Ray Wittman, Duane Olson, Marvin Hiebert, Ronald Hiebert and Gordon Olson. The active pallbearers were: Lyle Rempel, Lynn Rempel, Garnet Dyck, Jerome Austring, Brent Eliason and Brent Wittman. The Inerment service was held at the Turnhill Cemetery in the Beaver Flat district. Anna leaves to mourn her passing a grandson, Ken (Melanie) Friesen great granddaughter Keanna of Swift Current and one granddaughter Yvette Friesen (Charlie Shaheen) and great granddaughters Brittany and Jordanna of Swift Current, SK; three sisters: Marie (George) Cornelson of Brooks, AB , Marge (George) Hawkins of Moose Jaw, SK and Agnes Fensom of Outlook, SK; A brother David (Jerry) Dyck of Saskatoon, SK; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Anna was predeceased by her loving husband Frank Friesen, her son Roger Friesen, daughter-in-law Diena Friesen, her parents Anna and Abraham Dyck, a sister Tina Collins, and a brother Pete Dyck. Anna was born in the Gouldtown district, SK and was baptized in the Conference Church in Herbert, SK. She attended the Roland school until she was ten years old and then finished school in Herbert, SK. She then went to work for the John Friesen family, where she met and married Frank Friesen in 1939. They continued to farm in the Bever Flat area for 53 years. Anna loved flowers and gardening, so kept the freezer full of vegetables. She milked many a cow and sent a 5 gallon can of cream to the Creamery every week. She kept a well landscaped yard. After Frank\'s passing in 1992, she held a farm sale and moved to reside in Swift Current. She joined the Church of the Open Bible and everyone knew that the coffee pot was always on at Anna\'s house. In 2004 she moved in the Heritage Towers. She was very active and dedicated to her prayer study groups and always enjoyed attending the ladies social events at the church. Anna wanted to say thank-you and good bye to her many farm friends including the Hutterite Colony and many new friends that she met after her move to Swift Current, for their thoughtfulness and kindness shown to her. Memorial donations in her memory to The Church of The Open Bible, would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements were entrusted to Warren\'s Funeral Home.
