The death occurred suddenly at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, of Wayne Joseph Gaudet, of Slemon Park, and formerly of Summerside, age 55 years. Wayne was born in Palmer Road, P.E.I., on August 26, 1952, to his parents, Freddie and the late Geraldine (nee Gallien) Gaudet. Beloved common-law husband, of Holly Speight and loving father, of Melissa Gaudet and stepfather of Matthew, Candace and Zachery Speight. Survived by his brothers, Floyd (Marie) of Tignish; Paul (Judy) of Wilmot Valley and Carl (Jacinta) of Tignish and his sister, Cathy (Vernon) Corrigan of Palmer Road, along with numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. Besides his mother, Geraldine, Wayne was predeceased by his grandparents, Kate Gallien and Peter Gaudet and his uncle, Bobby Gaudet. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside, until Saturday, March 29, 2008, then to St. Paul’s Church, Summerside, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Memorial donations in Wayne’s memory, to the Arthritis Society of P.E.I., would be greatly appreciated.
