
Rose Fraser
Rose Marie Fraser, age 68, Durham, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, September 18, 2012, after a brief battle with cancer.
Born in Strathroy, Ontario on May 23, 1944, she was a daughter of the late James and Anna (Parker) Cluney, Durham.
Rose is survived by her husband Joseph C.; three daughters, Lisa Purcell (Kevin); Colleen Rauh (Hans), and Maureen (John Campbell). She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren: Melissa, Allison, Hayden, Keigan, Courtney; step-grandchildren Ainslie, Breagh and Mari and great-grandchildren Lily and Liam.
She was predeceased by her son Joseph Charles; her parents; brother Donald James Cluney; and mother and father-in-law, Simon and Julia (Cyr) Fraser.
Rose was a graduate of the Aberdeen School of Nursing in 1965. After leaving nursing, her pursuits included perfecting her homemade preservatives and knitting. She also became involved in the Catholic Women’s League, Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, the Durham Community Hall and West River Fire Hall. Mom had a great love for her grand children and great grand children.
Rose is resting at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 p.m. Her funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday from the Church of the Holy Name, Westville with Father Gerald Campbell and Father Donald Boudreau officiating.
