Alice Melanson
MELANSON, ALICE - 1928 - 2012 - Alice Melanson, 83 of Villa Providence Inc., Shediac and formerly of Dixon Point, passed away peacefully at the residence on Wednesday, September 19th, 2012. She was married to the late Antoine C. Melanson (2004). Born in Bouctouche on October 24th, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred “Fred” and the late Henriette (LeBlanc) LeBlanc. She will be sadly missed by her five children; Aurelda Goguen (Euclide) of Saint-Antoine, Antoinette “Toni” Bastarache (John) of Lakeville, Angella Goguen (Henri) of Cocagne, Désiré (Rose-Emma) and Valmond (Angella) of Dixon Point, her five grandchildren; Lise, Joël, Nicole, Lisa, Lynn and two great grandchildren Shawn and Yanick. She also leaves to mourn her three sisters; Aldéa Surette (Charlie) and Ida Cormier (Aurel) of Moncton, and Eva MacEachern (Daniel) of Lakeville, and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by one granddaughter, Michelle (2005), five sisters; Dora, Marie, Aurore, Flora and Hélène, and four brothers; Léonard, Anselme, Aurèle and Fidèle.
Visitations will be held at Maillet Funeral Home, 29 rue de l’église, Bouctouche on Sunday, September 23rd, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and on Monday, September 24th, from 9 to 10:45 am. Funeral Mass will be held at the Saint-Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, Bouctouche on Monday, September 24th, 2012 at 11:00 am with interment in the parish cemetery. In Alice’s memory donations can be made to the Villa Providence Inc., Shediac, or the Dr Georges L Dumont Hospital Foundation “Palliative Care”.
