Léon Arthur (Leo) Lavigne
1923- 2012

Leo was born on August 27, 1923 and he passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at the age of 89 years. He was predeceased by Solange Gareau Lavigne, the mother of his children; his parents Arthur Lavigne and Albina Marie Lavoie; his son Bernard (Hélène Tremblay); his brothers Phillip (Alice Regnier), René (Dorothy Bracken), Pierre (Irene Gaudet), John (Louise Harness), Amédé (Helen Richardson) and Maurice and his sisters, Aline (Paul Morin) and Lucille (Gordon Blanchard). He is survived by his sisters, Claire Heeb (Doug Nickless) and Laura (Dan Duncan); two brothers, Ernest (Margaret Allenby) and Paul (Annette Jan); five children, Marguerite (Yves Beaupré), Jeannette (Brian Newman); Suzanne (David Quiring), Guy (Jean Maksymiuk) and Laurent (Anne Desjardins); his grandchildren, Charles Lavigne, Alexandra Tremblay; Carl, Mark and Nathalie Beaupré; Erika, Nole and Jonathan Quiring; Danielle Newman; Louise Lavigne and Guillaume Landry; as well as fourteen great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. Cremation has taken place. The family would like to thank all who were involved in Leo's care, especially the staff at the Renal Unit of the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert and the caregivers at the Hatzel Care Home. A private gathering for family and friends will be held on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at the home of Guy Lavigne. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 24, 2012 at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens with Pastor Dan Haugen officiating. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada (www.kidney.ca). Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, Drew Gray, Funeral Director.
