Margery (Williams) Samson

Margery (Williams) Samson

Passed on: September 13th, 2012

Passed away peacefully with family by her side on the afternoon of September 13, 2012. She was born in Petty Harbour, Newfoundland on March 27, 1927. In 1949, while working as a teacher in Flat Island, she married the love of her life, Lloyd, upon his return from service with the Royal British Navy. In 1956 they relocated to Mount Pearl and in 1960 to Edmonton. Margery is fondly remembered by her children: Judith (Chris), Lewis (Donna), Paul (Pamela), Philip (Cathy), Kim (Frankie) and her grandchildren: Christa, Stephanie, Christian, Matthew, Marcus and great-granddaughter Monroe. Margery is survived by her sisters: Valda and Olive of Newfoundland and Gwen of Ontario. Margery is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends including those she lived with at Churchill Manor. Margery was predeceased by her husband Lloyd in November 2010 as well as her brothers: George, Alex and Eugene. Margery took great interest and pride in the successes of her children and they will miss her sense of humour and feistiness. She had a saying, "there are holes in the floor of heaven". Now she and Dad are looking down on us. A celebration of her life is planned for a later date. Condolences may be sent to nursekim@shaw.ca. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation, 1502, 8215-112 Street NW, Edmonton, AB T6G 9Z9.
