Alma Elsie Wetters (nee Garland), beloved wife of Major Norris C. “Stormy” Wetters, US Air Force Retired, passed away suddenly but peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, September 9, 2012, at their home in Beverly Hills, MI. She was born in St. John’s, Newfoundland, on July 8, 1931, to the late Stephen and Margaret “Madge” Garland.
Alma is survived by her husband, brother, Gordon Garland of St. John’s, Newfoundland, and three stepsons: Ronald (Betty) Wetters of Merced, CA; Donald (Brenda) Wetters of Columbia, IL; and Lynn (Angela) Wetters of Canon City, CO. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren are Mark Wetters and Alexa; Kara Ayik and Evren and Erol; Joe (Reina) Wetters and JJ and Kaitlyn; Monique Wetters and Chandler, Anastasia, and Aidan; Kyle Wetters; Nathan (Cara) Wetters; Kindra (Bret) Hughes; Noah (Courtney) Wetters. A nephew and niece and their children in Newfoundland are Stepen Garland (Nancy) and Olivia and Sarah; and Karen Garland (Shawn) and Justin. Besides her parents Alma was preceded in death by her beloved sister-in-law, Betty Garland.
As Alma requested, there will be no formal services to mark her passing.
