STAIRS, CAROL - Carol Irene Stairs of Millville, NB, passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, NB. Born on August 19, 1943 in Millville, NB, she was the wife of Paul Stairs and daughter of the late Barry and Iva (Hayes) Good. Known as “Abby” to many, she loved the time she spent with family and friends. She enjoyed singing, playing the guitar, camping, “wheeling”, hunting and snowmobiling. Her positive outlook and wonderful spirit were an inspiration to those around her. Carol attended the Millville Baptist Church and was an active member of various community organizations. Most recently, she was a member of the Millville Ladies’ Auxiliary, Branch #59, the NB Block Parent Association and the Millville Genealogical Society. Carol was an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Paul Stairs, Millville, NB; daughter, Paula Derrah (Noel), Mazerolle Settlement, NB; son, Jason Stairs (Kristy Glazier), Millville, NB; grandchildren, Alyson Morehouse, Adam and Kaelen Derrah and Brady and Bruce Stairs; brothers, Loran Good (Patsy), Corner Brook, NL and Hoppy Good (Charlene), Millville, NB; as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins and a large extended family. Besides her parents and several members of her extended family she was predeceased by a nephew, Richard Good.
Visitation will take place at the Millville Baptist Church on Saturday, September 29 from 12 to 2 pm. A funeral service will follow at 2 pm with Rev. Derek Langille officiating. A eulogy will be delivered by Sharon Connor. Honorary pallbearers will be Teresa Brown, Lise Forbes, Terry Hoyt, Wendy King, Pam MacFarlane and Judy Miller. Burial will take place at the Hawkins Corner Cemetery. In her memory, donations to the Louise Breau Fund, the Millville Baptist Church or the Hawkins Corner Cemetery would be appreciated.
